WE ARE DOG FRIENDLY!

About The Cottage

The Chantry dates back to the 17th Century and has undergone extensive refurbishment to make it a comfortable cottage to stay in and has recently had the bathroom, shower room and kitchen refurbished to a high standard.

It retains many of the old beams and features that were previously part of the cottage. All rooms face south, overlooking a small enclosed private courtyard garden. It is secluded but less than a minute from shops and transport.

Free parking is available nearby.

Reviews

  •   Situated in the middle of the town, The Chantry is exactly as described with plenty of space for a large group. The furnishings throughout the house are tasteful and thoughtfully done. The lounge, with three very comfortable sofas and a log burner, is most inviting on those chilly evenings and the large dining room is perfect for having meals altogether. Each room was immaculately clean and well presented. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Wells.

  •   The Chantry is in a brilliant location right in the centre of Wells-next-the-sea and a very short walk to shops and restaurants. The house itself has plenty of room. We were three generations and there was plenty of space for us all in this beautiful and very clean property. The property also has a high chair and travel cot which we found useful and very clean. The bedrooms were all a great size and the bathrooms beautiful and very clean. We loved our stay at The Chantry.

  •   Beautiful cottage tucked just behind the high street. Central location between the quay and the Globe pub/restaurant. Very clean and tidy house. Two bedrooms and a bathroom on each floor. Small courtyard with tables and chairs, perfect for playing games with a glass of wine in the evenings.

  •   Property was beautiful and very clean, very close to all amenities on the town yet very quiet at night.
Parking is not at the property but this is quite clear in the property info. We went out of season so did not have a problem getting parked quite close to the house, less than a minutes walk, and between us we had 5 cars.
Our two dogs had a lovely time on the beach and the area was very dog friendly.
If you go off season it's worth going to see the seals at blakeney, we went on a boat trip which was about £13 each and well worth the money, we even took the dogs.
All in all a lovely place, cannot fault.

  •   Lovely period house in a great spot in the centre of Wells. Facilities are excellent although the kitchen is a bit small for a house of it’s size, but the spacious dining area makes up for it. Lindy is a very attentive host. We would love to come back another year!
